we have been going here for over 19 years with over the years 4 dogs. they were always so nice and helpful. my dog had a bad tumble after 5 last night. they open at 8 so I started calling and the phone was off the hook until after 9'30. when they were using the phone I oculdn't get anybody so I drove there without my dog just to make sure they were there. I realize west does surgery and they are short staffed but I was told she had 3 surgeries and wouldn't be free until afternoon- BUT I was told she wouldn't work my hurt dog in when she was free but I could make an appointment for Tuesday..... I took my dog to the grove in locust grove- he was seen xrayed and helped. I will NEVER GO BACK TO DR>WEST AGAN. what bad customer service and after going there for over 19 years.

As much as I wanted to like this vet office, I won’t be returning. My dog has a history of anxiety with vet visits as he hates shots (no history of ever biting anyone). This visit didn’t even involve any shots. Instead of using this info to their advantage and taking 2 extra minutes to greet my dog and build some rapport with him before doing their examination, he was treated like a criminal with every member of this office. Had anybody even let him sniff their hand, that would have made the visit so much smoother… Nobody would even pet him. Their judgments were made before they even walked in the room. Some may read this as them taking their precautions with an “aggressive dog”… Dr West was clearly fearful of him and refused to even check his heart rate without forcing him to wear a muzzle. My POV is that if you’re a vet or work in a vet clinic, you should have an ounce of understanding of animal behavior and know that, when dealing with an anxious dog, your FIRST step should be to do what you can to make them comfortable. That didn’t happen here.
