This was a first visit for a rescue puppy. Our 1st office visit was free. The staff was great, friendly, caring and sweet. My pup was happy with them. They have a couple health maintenance packages that were affordable and appealing. My sweet baby hiding under the Cahir at vet and relaxing at home.
REVIEW PART #1:
I rarely write reviews, but unfortunately this experience warranted one. I even asked to speak with someone else because I did not want to leave a negative review. As a business owner, I understand how important reputation is and appreciate businesses that take pride in treating people with respect. Sadly, that was not my experience.
This was one of the worst professional experiences I have ever had. I felt judged from the moment I walked in and was laughed at multiple times before leaving out the door by the long-haired blonde employee at the front desk. No one seeking care for their service animal should be treated that way. My family and I were involved in a horrific truck accident where we nearly lost our lives. I recently began walking again after being in a wheelchair. I am on heavy medications that affect my thinking, speech, and overall functioning, but I still pushed through because my service animal needed care. Once I expressed that I no longer wanted services because of how I was being treated, They began saying they wanted to deny services which is odd when I already stated I was done and I requested the owner’s or manager’s information. Instead, I was told she was the current manager and then said the police would be called simply because I wanted to speak with someone else or even the other person in management. I found that extremely confusing and inappropriate. I even stated I had no problem calling the police myself if necessary because I did not understand why asking for management had become an issue. Nothing I did or said or tone from my end warranted police officers.
The issue quickly became my address. I have multiple residences both within and outside the state, and I did not feel comfortable explaining all of my living arrangements/properties after my accident after already feeling judged. I ultimately wrote down the address connected to my license as requested, but by that point I no longer wished to continue the conversation because every response felt met with assumptions rather than understanding.
People have valid reasons for not wanting to discuss/provide personal information, including safety concerns. No one should be forced to explain their private circumstances just to avoid being judged.
I was willing to let everything go and chalk it up to a misunderstanding until the police comment and the repeated laughter from the long-haired blonde employee. Even after I calmly said, “Nothing is funny, ma’am,” she continued. I also watched her interact with another customer standing beside me, and the difference in professionalism was night and day. They cannot honestly say I was rude or disruptive at ANY point to justify threatening police involvement.
As I left, she laughed and told me to “Have a great day.” I simply wished her a blessed life. I did not deserve to be treated that way.
I truly hope race had nothing to do with my experience, but it is difficult not to question it when I was judged, treated so differently and assumptions were made about my circumstances, including the fact that I have multiple properties and vehicles. Drove the older one today only because it was sitting for a while. I don't many who look there best after what myself and family have been through.
I normally avoid businesses with ratings below four stars, and this experience reinforced that decision. Thank you to the intimidating police threat, that very well could of ended in tragedy, the condescending treatment, and especially the long-haired blonde employee at the front desk for giving me a reason to write this Google review with repeated disregard, disrespect and laughter.
