I absolutely love Jefferson Animal Hospital! Dr. Phillips is incredibly knowledgeable and always has the best treatment plan for Astro. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and is always so thoughtful and thorough in his care. Alyana is also wonderful. She is always kind, helpful, and genuinely caring whenever we’re there. The entire front office staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit a great experience. I’m very grateful to have such a great team taking care of Astro.

We own 7 rescue dogs and 5 cats, living in the country means people dump animals on you that are in pretty bad shape. We see Dr. Jason Phillips monthly. Over the years he has helped us with diagnosing and treating in our dogs osteoarthritis, seizures due to a brain tumor, Addisons Disease, UTIs due to struvite crystals, and Diabetes Insipidis. He safely removed an eye in our 15 yo boxer due to painful cataract pressure. And most recently we had a dog that required a blood transfusion and Dr. Phillips had his father bring his own pup in to be the blood donor for the transfusion in the middle of the night. We are beyond grateful. She's fully recovered thanks to their quick thinking and diligence! Dr. Phillips has a wonderful manner with families and pets, he is patient and listens to your concerns and believe me, I always have a long list of concerns. We have been here for years and will remain. The entire staff is just phenomenal, I have never had a vet practice as good as this. Their pricing is very fair. I know the average going rate for just about every procedure out there and I have no complaints what so ever about JAH's pricing. This is just a great hospital for your pets, be it shots or to say that final goodbye. They have even shed a tear with us in the end. Good People, Ethical Business.

Inexperienced, inadequate, and dangerous. Do not trust this practice if you value your pet’s life. Because of the young veterinarian’s inexperience, our 7 year old working dog will never be able to eat solid foods again. Because he failed to diagnose her Pyometra during multiple visits, he then realized that she required emergency surgery as she was nearing sepsis. The surgery caused permanent damage to her esophagus to the point that she was not able to keep any food down. Then she started struggling to swallow water. After wasting $3k and precious weeks following their instructions (that were never going to be able to fix what they had done to her, because they didn’t even know what was wrong with her and couldn’t even diagnose it) our dog continued to deteriorate in front of my eyes. When she was on death’s door, and had lost about 15% of her already low body weight, we ended up at the UGA Veterinary Hospital emergency room in desperation. Thanks to their diligent care, she has recovered some of her quality of life and has been able to gain back most of the weight she lost while she starved under Jefferson veterinary practice’s “care”. But my beloved, brilliant dog will never be able to eat a little treat from my hand ever again and will always have an esophagus barely wider than a drinking straw. We have to blend her food into smoothie consistency 3x a day for the rest of her life. We now take all of our other animals to Shannon Veterinary care and feel much safer.

Love this place. Been going for 15 years. They never force unnecessary exams. Unlike most vets they will also pick labs/test if you need budget friendly options. Some vets force unnecessary labs to up the bill.
