My beloved cat died 6 days after dental surgery of 4 teeth pulled simultaneously without my consent, was given a 48-hr pain shot, and WITHOUT pain management prescribed to Bluie, a Russian Blue cat.
There’s nothing that Dr.Kay can tell me to make me feel better. It took him more than 2 weeks to reach out to me. After several calls to his clinic that I need a copy of his medical file, they stalled and would not give me a copy of his file, although legally it belongs to me. The last time I called, I was told it “NEEDS DOCTOR APPROVAL.” That’s the first I heard that getting your or your pet’s medical file needs approval from the doctor for its release. I got mad & told whoever was on the phone and I said “Why won’t you release it to me, is it because your clinic killed my cat?” Soon after, this clinic kept calling me including, Dr. Kay, but I refused to speak to any of them.
6 July 2026, Bluie had dental surgery where 4 teeth were pulled simultaneously. She was given a 48-hour pain shot without take home pain management protocol. After the pain shot wore off, third day after surgery, although Bluie, wanted to, she refused to eat or drink and cannot open her mouth. I took her back to Dr Kay’s clinic and vet Marshall took her in. She asked my position about Bluie. My response was do what you need to do to bring her back to health. Her response “She’s 14 YO senior cat, and what about her quality of life?” She left the room without saying anything. Later on, she said Bluie needs to be taken to an ER animal hospital. I took her to Westside ER animal hospital from Lithia Spring, GA. She was left there overnight and hooked to an IV with Vit-B complex without food all day and night. The following day I was asked to wait outside and someone will come out to bring Bluie out. There was no contact or consult to ER staff. I was told to take Bluie back to her local vet. July 13, 2026, this was her 6th day without food and water. Took her back to local vet while vocalizing in severe pain.
13 July 2026, around 3:00 pm of same day, vet Marshall was frantic to get hold of me. When I arrived there, she was harried to get Bluie out of her care and told me to take her to a Specialized ER Animal Hospital, the closest, Dogwood. Bluie agonized, endured, profound mouth pain for more than one hour. Shortly after we arrived and left Dogwood, Dr. Chadwick called me and said Bluie was GONE due to sepsis.
My beloved cat did not die of chronic disease, but due to incompetence of those vets who left Bluie in severe pain, hunger and dehydration for six (6) days that created complications in her body affecting her organs. She maybe an older, senior cat, but she was never sick all her life. She was loved and well cared all her life.
My dog had a seizure in the parking lot and all hands were on deck in seconds with a stretcher, getting blood drawn and medication to help. They were absolutely amazing in the speed, professionalism and knowledge. Everyone was calm and made me feel calmer in the situation. Fantastic staff! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We have three dogs: two that are nearly 6 years old and 100 pounds each and one that is six months old. The doctors have all been wonderful and taken exceptional care with our animals from the baby having a lump on her head that had to be drained and a round of antibiotics to one of our dogs having a seizure right there in the parking lot when everyone was suddenly there and cooperating and caring for her as the absolute priority. I can’t say enough nice things about the doctors and staff at this clinic. If you were questioning whether to take your pets to these people, just know that they care as much as you do about your fur babies and we’ll do everything they can to give them everything they need.
